Closure Group Case Study
The client
Closure Group is an earthmoving and civil construction business based in Moree, NSW, run by Ryland Burt. Before Blacklist Productions came on board, the Closure Group Facebook page had around 200 followers and no regular content.
What we did
Blacklist Productions took over Closure Group's Facebook and Instagram on a monthly content retainer. We shoot cinematic footage on site with RED and Blackmagic cinema cameras, cut it into short-form reels, and put Ryland on camera talking about the work. We also built a podcast studio for Closure Group in Moree, with Ryland as host.
Results in the first 28 days
Around 249,000 Facebook views from roughly 92,000 viewers.
971 new Facebook follows, from a starting base of about 200.
1,800 interactions.
Zero dollars spent on ads.
Instagram added 19,400 views and reached 7,100 accounts, 97% of them non-followers.
The top reel, Ryland talking to camera on site, did 79,500 views on its own.
The right audience
The audience is 87% male and around 72% aged 25 to 54, concentrated in Moree, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Toowoomba. These are the people who hire earthmoving contractors and run civil projects.
What it did for the business
Closure Group was contacted about earthworks in Bathurst because of the videos. A major mining company opened talks about large-scale work after seeing the content. Operators running fleets of 500+ machines have reached out to Ryland about it. Our footage has also been used in winning tender submissions, and our earthmoving footage has been reposted by Caterpillar's global Instagram account.
What we learned
The best performing posts all have Ryland on camera, on site, talking about the job. They beat machinery-only clips every time. In construction, people hire people.
